This webinar will increase your understanding of trauma and its impact on learning. By the end of this webinar, you will:
- identify signs of trauma and PTSD in refugee learners and describe its impact on behavior and learning
- describe classroom strategies for one-on-one and group interaction with a learner who has experienced trauma

Presenter: Karin Linschoten
Karin Linschoten has a Masters in Counseling Psychology and is a Certified Canadian Counselor and Counseling Supervisor. She has extensive training in Trauma Therapy and body oriented psychotherapy. Karin is the Clinical Director for Counseling Services at Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers and Multicultural Health Brokers’ Coop. She is also the 2012-16 representative for Canada on the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims.
