Learn more about CRTP

  • Not only did this CRTP teach me the proper techniques for job hunting, but it also taught me how to deal with stressful conditions during unemployment and overcome barriers to employment. In my opinion, my experience in CRTP will be tremendously useful for my whole employment lifetime.

  • I have had the pleasure to work with several individuals through work experience placements through the program. These individuals displayed positive attitude, excellent experience, maturity and a willingness to tackle any level of challenge that was offered to them. This program allows us to quickly add needed temporary resources on short notice. The biggest benefit of being involved in the program is the opportunity to identify outstanding individuals for permanent hire.

  • There are many wonderful things that I could say about the Corporate Readiness Training Program, but the most important is this: this program is focused on the real job market. This program has a lot of strengths and opportunities to get new immigrants ready to work. Now I am going to kick off my second life in Canada.

CRTP helps IEPs gain successful employment in Canada.

The Corporate Readiness Program (CRTP) is a full-time program for internationally educated professionals (IEPs) who are looking to start their career in Canada. It provides learners with the skills they need to find a job and the business communication skills they need to excel.

Entering the Canadian professional workforce can seem very difficult to many immigrants. Jobs are available to utilize your professional skills learned outside of Canada. If you already have English language training, we can give you the extra tools you need to find jobs in Calgary that make the most of your qualifications and experience.

For course offerings, funding, and eligibility requirements, please visit the CRTP website at: crtp.bowvalleycollege.ca or call 403-410-3466

Become a Host Company

CRTP helps companies find highly skilled team members.

Is your company short-staffed or do you need specialized expertise from highly motivated professionals?

Become a host company by providing work experience for a participant in the Corporate Readiness Training Program (CRTP).

Designed for skilled immigrant workers who wish to re-enter their field of expertise, CRTP combines job-related classroom instruction with a relevant six-week work experience placement.  By offering this placement for a skilled worker, you compliment his/her education with Canadian work experience and may find long-term employees.

For host companies, CRTP offers the opportunity to:

  • host an international professional for six weeks as an intern in the workplace
  • increase the diversity advantage by tapping into different talent pools
  • access highly educated and experienced potential employees

For course offerings, funding, and eligibility requirements, please visit the CRTP website at: crtp.bowvalleycollege.ca or call 403-410-3466

Other ways to participate

There are many ways your company can take part in the Corporate Readiness Training Program besides offering a work experience placement.

Here are some examples of innovative partnerships between the CRTP and local companies and organizations:

  • Through the generosity of the Esmail Safana Farzana Fayaz Bharwani Foundation many CRTP participants have received the support they needed to continue their education and pursue their career goals. Since 2014, Esmail Bharwani has presented six awards every year to CRTP participants.
  • The Lai Family has donated funds to the CRTP to support the incremental costs associated with travelling to a work experience placement outside of Calgary.

If your company would like to assist the CRTP in a special way, either in addition to or instead of offering a work experience placement, please contact us at crtp@bowvalleycollege.ca

We welcome the participation of community leaders and volunteers in the program to:

  • share knowledge and experiences with the learners
  • present to the group on workplace issues
  • lead small group discussions on various job finding topics
  • volunteer for the mentoring program
