Speed Friending at the IC
A new initiative out of the IC, Speed Friending is a casual event to connect learners. Learners were provided with conversation topics to get to know each other in a fun and engaging environment. Due to its popularity, Speed Friending will be held again in January 2018!
Communal Table: Crave
The IC was happy to host Jodi Willoughby of Crave in a candid conversation on creating an exceptional company within Calgary. Participants learned strategies in growing a successful enterprise and sampled delicious cupcakes!
Communal Table: Turkish Marbling Art
The IC was privileged to host Medina Ardic, Turkish marbling artist and community leader. Medina showcased her Turkish marbling art technique and specialized tools for this centuries-old art form and then allowed participants the unique opportunity to create their own pieces.
Teach Your Talent: Portrait Drawing
The IC hosted Reem Zaid, a Bow Valley College learner and artist, who taught techniques used to begin drawing their own portraits. Participants learned how to capture the beauty, emotion, and details of the human face.
TEDxBowValleyCollege 2017: Kintsugi: Perfectly Imperfect
The IC hosted another successful TEDxBowValleyCollege event, hosting five distinct speakers, all underlying the philosophy of Kintsugi. Our full house of attendees was exposed to big ideas in the areas of self-improvement, financial literacy, meaningful dialogue, universal design, and gender equality.
